How to Climate Time Travel

Well Planned and Professionally Supervised

Well Planned and Professionally Supervised

You book a three to four hour facilitated online workshop with us for 5 to 30 people: e.g. employees, members, clients, partners, supporters or friends.

When booking, you specify the time, the real time duration, the simulated duration (up to 80 years!) and the number of participants.

You will receive a ClimateTimeMachine link and a video conference link each from us, with which you can invite participants to your ClimateTimeMachine climate time journey.

The invitees create a user account via the ClimateTimeMachine link and are thus directly assigned to the time journey.

At the booked time, we activate the time travel and start the video conference in parallel, so that all participants can communicate directly with each other.

Well-designed Process, Flexible Simulation Time

Well-designed Process, Flexible Simulation Time

After the introduction to the topic as well as after all participants have logged in, we first look at the climate forecast for the year 2100, if no climate action is taken beyond what is planned today.

The time travel starts with simulated time stopped. We explain the system. Participants make the start settings to their lifestyle.

We start the running of the simulated time, which will run several thousand times faster than real time. From now on, the climate model in ClimateTimeMachine continuously takes into account the influence of the emission-related decisions of all participants. The current state of the climate and the forecast for the year 2100 can be called up at any time.

Participant Communication Is Key

Participant Communication Is Key

The participants discuss live and in chat the state of the simulated world and possible individual and societal measures, but also their personal limits, values and needs. They test their ideas in the simulation and see the climatic and monetary consequences and costs.

When necessary, we pause the flow of simulated time, provide assistance, suggestions and an opportunity to ask questions.

The conclusion of the climate time journey includes reflecting together on the resulting climate change and a feedback session.
